The Godstone Hotel, Bletchingley

Returning to this hotel after four years was a delightful surprise! The new management is making improvements, and we loved the warm welcome and fantastic evening meals from a passionate young chef. While the decor is still a work in progress, the delicious breakfast with vegan options made it all worthwhile. However, some guests might find the accommodation in need of more updates and repairs.

My experience at the hotel was a mix of highs and lows. The dining was a standout with beautifully prepared meals and an enthusiastic chef, which I really appreciated. However, the room was in dire need of refurbishment and had its share of cleanliness issues. The staff was incredibly friendly, making up for some of the accommodation shortfalls. Overall, the great food and service made my stay worthwhile, even though the room could use significant updates.
